Our social surroundings often effect our regular routines and habits. Over the last couple of years the importance of social connections has been emphasised, not just our immediate family and friends but the wider community.

The need for a strong social surrounding of like minded people is highlighted through research when it comes to our weight loss journeys. In truth research reports that social support increases our prospects of achieving our goals by up to 50% and maintaining them by up to 80%.


The Friends On A Journey support groups provide emotional, practical and inspirational help you need, to support your journeys, helping you to overcome obstacles and stay motivated, which is the key to achieve our health/weight loss goals.


Friends On A Journey offers;-


  • Eight physical group meetings a week

  • Social online community (Facebook) 24/7

  • Real-time advice when needed via phone call, text message, WhatsApp, Messenger, Video Call.

  • We also have the support of Google for great recipe ideas on top of the Friends On The Journey shared recipe posts on social media.


If you every feel like you need extra support between group meetings? You are not alone! The Friends On A Journey community is always there when you need it.


The physical groups offers a community of peers with similar goals, offering shared experiences, led by a weight loss coach that has also similar goals and shared experiences.


While no two journeys are the same your support group can be as involved as you need, providing you with guidance, advice and supporting navigation around triggers or cravings. The support group offers motivation needed to mix up meals so you do not grow tired of eating the same old meals day in, day out, with healthy recipes for all abilities, sharing trusted Cooks/Chefs recipe websites, blogs, social media and books...


The support group utilises technology as a great tool which can enhance our journeys by up to 60%, by tracking our nutritional (food) intake, hydration, sleep and activity (The Four Pillars). The most popular within the groups currently is Nutracheck, which also offers recipe ideas, with links to BBC Good Food.


When you need... Encouragement, log onto Friends On A Journey social media (Facebook) and share your thoughts, feelings and progress updates, with fellow members who know just what you're going through. So if you've had a tough day/week or want to share a NSV (Non Scale Victory) you'll find friendly support you need and can offer it to others too.


A reliable support group is key to losing weight and maintenance, having a community around you that can give you emotional, practical and inspirational support, will encourage you to face your challenges of changing your lifestyle to keep you motivated to achieve your goals.
